When injustice is meted out to us, we know the sting of its pain and the suffering and the agony one goes through. Much worse than this situation is the person through whom such injustices proceed. For God is the RIGHTEOUS, FAIR AND JUST Judge. He will bring every word and every act of everyone into judgement.
– “14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.” – Ecclesiastes 12:14
– “But I say to you that for every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment.” – Matthew 12:36
– “So then each of us will give an account of himself to God.” – Romans 14:12
My dear Christian, it is good for us to be Righteous, Fair and Just in all our dealings with our fellow human beings, and not just fellow Christians. Such behaviour is expected of a child of God. Such conduct is a reflection of our transformed nature and personality. There is much more at stake, here, than merely a loss of face, if we don’t walk such a path. The Bible urges us to be like our LORD in our thoughts, words and deeds. For such virtues are a reflection of our LORD.
– “23 These things also belong to the wise: It is not good to show partiality in judgment. 24 He who says to the wicked, “You are righteous,” Him the people will curse; Nations will abhor him. 25 But those who rebuke the wicked will have delight, And a good blessing will come upon them.” – Proverbs 24:23-25
To show favouritism and partiality in judgment, to those whom we know, or to those who are strong and powerful, is detestable to the LORD.
– “20 Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!…23 Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away justice from the righteous man!” – Isaiah 5:20,23
– “[In Hebrew, to show partiality in judgment is] To know faces; to regard not so much the matter as the man; to hear persons speak, and not causes; to judge not according to truth and equity, but according to opinion and appearance – to fear or favour.” – John Trapp
The Bible is clear, yet man continues to show partiality in his thoughts, words and deeds. What is shameful is that many Christians walk this path with no sense of guilt and repentance. So sad and painful to see such behaviour. It is an age old problem. Let us never forget that, what we sow, that we reap.
– ” 1 “Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, Who write misfortune, Which they have prescribed 2 To rob the needy of justice, And to take what is right from the poor of My people, That widows may be their prey, And that they may rob the fatherless.” – Isaiah 10:1-2
May the good LORD help us to think, speak and behave just like Him, our Master and our Redeemer, who is Righteous, Fair and Just, in all His dealings.
"Using clever and deceptive words, they blur moral issues and excuse their sin. They look at their own evil and call it good, and they look at the good of others and call it evil...These are men who care only for their own pleasure and entertainment, and care nothing for others."
