We live in a post-truth world, where truth, facts, right and wrong, good and bad are irrelevant and useless. A lie is comfortable because it is sweet. Truth, on the other band is increasingly becoming uncomfortable. Take it out of the equation seems to be the best option. What suits me, is the truth for me, these days.
There is no universal truth anymore. What you consider as truth and right, need not be so, to me. I am not interested in what you, or anyone else thinks. For me, what I think is not only important, that is all that matters to me.
When what matters is, what I think as right, where no one else has any right to tell me, what is right and wrong, then the annihilation is not too far away. We are at a breakneck speed towards anarchism and self-destruction.
No wonder every relationship is deeply stressed, if not crumbling already. Ever institution to uphold human dignity, and safeguard the weak and the helpless, are fast eroding. Pretty soon, the laws of the jungle will take over the civilized world.
Might will be right. Might manifests itself through money, muscle, connections and access to power. When right is sacrificed for might, there is no hope for a moral and civil world. Anarchy will reign, and that is the beginning of our ruin.
Everything is not hopeless my friend. It is true, the reality is not very encouraging. But the LORD has HIS ways. He led HIS people during Pharaoh, Babylonian exile, Roman persecution and every other conceivable threat down through the centuries. He will, even now. For He is still on the throne. Do not be mistaken.
