Today is the LORD’s Day, the day we are called to rest, and the day we worship the LORD God Almighty, together, as the family of God, with fellow believers. There is also, the “Day of the LORD” when the God Almighty, the God of all creation would, judge everything and everyone.
We find YAHWEH, our Creator and the LORD of all creation, speaking through prophet Malachi, about the “Day of the LORD” in Malachi 4:1-3. This passage is quite a comforting insight, to all who feel discouraged, because of the proud, the arrogant, the cruel, the wicked and the evil, who crush the just, the weak and the powerless. This is the reality of the world, ever since the fall of human beings, even more so, today.
– ‘1 “For behold, the day is coming, Burning like an oven, And all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,” Says the LORD of hosts, “That will leave them neither root nor branch.
– “2 But to you who fear My name The Sun of Righteousness shall arise With healing in His wings; And you shall go out And grow fat like stall-fed calves.
– 3 You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the LORD of hosts.” – Malachi 4:1-3
When the Day of the LORD comes, so would the New “Way of the LORD!” The world where, the Sun of Righteousness would shine, and those who fear His name, would be looked upon favourably, and would walk in God given righteous authority. Wouldn’t that day be great? That “Day of the LORD” would indeed be, great and glorious. The best part being, it would never end. HalleluYah!!!
Meanwhile, may we who fear the LORD, walk ever so faithfully and obediently, not losing the sight of our Redeemer, the Author and the Finisher of our faith – Hebrews 12:1-2. Even so, the LORD help us.
"As the rising sun diffuses light and heat, so that all that is healthy in nature revives and lifts up its head, while plants that have no depth of root are scorched up and wither away, so the advent of the reign of righteousness, which will reward the good and the wicked, each according to his deserts, will dissipate all darkness of doubt, and heal all the wounds which the apparent injustice of the conduct of affairs has inflicted on the hearts of the righteous."
