The fall of man has brought upon us, despair, destruction and death. We put ourselves in such a position, that there is nothing that we could do to reverse the effects of our sin and rebellion. It is beyond our ability. In fact, we are active participants in the destruction of all that God created. Cain killing his own brother, Able, is ample proof of the darkness in our hearts – Genesis 4:8.
The LORD, who cares for us, laid out for us, a plan of redemption, through which He wished to rescue, reform and restores us to all that He originally intended. Jesus, the Messiah, the Son of God, had come just for this purpose – John1:14, 3:16.
What Jesus speaks in John 11:25-26, to Mary and Martha, when their brother Lazarus had died, is the full scope of that “Rescue Mission” – “25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: 26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”
Now the question for us is – “Believest thou this?” Are we ALIVE or DEAD? What about those of us who are Christians? Is that life flowing in and through us? Some serious questions to think about.
"He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him."
