Budget may sound big, technical and ‘intimidating.’ It may appear to many as a thing related to big organisations, and business entities. Budget, as it actually stands, is to have a Spending Plan for the income, with an emphasis on the priority of needs and necessities.
The Word of God has this to say on the subject…“23 Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, And attend to your herds;”
“27 Prepare your outside work, Make it fit for yourself in the field; And afterward build your house.”
“28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it…”
– Proverbs 27:23, 24:27, Luke 14:28
It is wise to have a plan of action for any important matter, especially, finances. It helps us get clarity. It helps us to prepare in advance. It helps us to get a hold of what is coming, and what we should expect. It helps us in approaching the matter better equipped, than when we have no plan at all. It good and helpful.
Planning may not help us succeed at a matter. But, lack of planning, will certainly ensure our failure. So it is wise to plan in advance, and be prepared for any unexpected twists and turns.
"Do you have a household budget? Everyone needs to have a budget. From experience, budgeting allows freedom. When you tell your money where to go, I’ve found that I actually have more money."
