We are social beings. Friendship and companionship is written into our system. We need healthy and helpful relationships for us to have a meaningful life. Sad as it may be, friendships and relationships can encounter rough weather. Sometimes they can breakdown. In some cases, they can be so broken down, that they may become beyond repair.
When things are going well, we reap the benefits of all our relationships. That is what it was meant to be – a blessing to all in it. It is equally true that, when a relationship breaks down, it will invariably cause hurt, pain and agony. Such relationships will bruise us, and in many cases break us, and our hearts.
To be honest, there are no easy answers and solutions to broken-down relationships. This is the reality of life. Sometimes, some relationships cannot to repaired. They need to be let go…so that time and distance will heal the hurts and broker some solution.
There is one thing we should do, regardless of the status of our relationships…look to God our Creator. He is the one who created us, and He knows what remedy has to be applied and how to repair a broken relationship. The Bible says…
– “3 He heals the broken-hearted And binds up their wounds.” – Psalms 147:3
– “18 “The Spirit of the LORD is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me To preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives And recovery of sight to the blind, To set at liberty those who are oppressed;” – Luke 4:18
Let us, therefore, run to the LORD with all our hurts, and all the broken pieces. Let us learn to WAIT upon Him to set things right. Let us learn to LEAN upon Him for support and strength, to walk through the troubled times, and our shattered dreams. The LORD cares for us, and He will surely help us…
– “28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.” – Matthew 11:28-30
"Past hurts leave broken pieces. Few can heal in their own strength. But the good news is there is plenty of help available. The best thing is that most of it is free. Jesus has been called the Great Physician."
