Relationships are essential and enriching for our overall well-being. That is how the LORD meant them to be. Remember the LORD said, “It is not good for man to be alone.”
However, relationships are sensitive, delicate and fragile. They can go wrong pretty quickly. Some we can redeem it. Some seem to slip out of our hands. Some are beyond our control to do anything about it. Therefore, it is good to tread carefully and wisely, than hastily do things, and regret latter.
A drop of poison in a bucket of milk would make all that healthy and nutritious milk, poisonous. The reverse does not have the same effect. A drop of milk in a bucket of poison would not make it good and nutritious milk. Rather, the poison still remains poison. This is the reality of life. This is how life is, unless one is careful.
We are dealing will fallen human race. The Bible records “our heart as desperately wicked,” [Jeremiah 17:9] and “the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” [Genesis 6:5]
May the LORD help us to be wise and careful.
"Kind thoughts are rarer than either kind words or deeds. They imply a great deal of thinking about others. This in itself is rare. But they also imply a great deal of thinking about others, without the thoughts being criticisms. This is rarer still."
