Life, as we journey, can be tough, and at times difficult. Sometimes, the obstacles we encounter can break us. It will take the person through crushing experiences – sometimes of our own making; sometimes with no obvious reason at all; at other times, just plain difficult and painful times.
However, if we place our broken life in the hands of the LORD, He can transform the very same shattered pieces into something very beautiful. Brokenness could be beautiful, and a blessing to us, and also all the others around us. There are countless example of such a transformation.
Vance Havner, writing about brokenness and the LORD, has this to say – “God uses broken things. It takes broken soil to produce a crop, broken clouds to give rain, broken grain to give bread, broken bread to give strength. It is the broken alabaster box that gives forth perfume. It is Peter, weeping bitterly, who returns to greater power than ever.”
Isn’t that wonderful to know? God is interest in our brokenness! Would we, like the little boy with five loaves and two fishes, give to the LORD, our struggles and shattered lives, without feeling shy, or what others would say? This is the best thing we can do!!!
"To experience brokenness is inevitable. It’s part of being human. We’re broken from the moment of our conception. We live out the brokenness of our own sinfulness. We feel broken by the sins of others. We’re constantly navigating the effects of living in a broken world. Brokenness touches us physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. No one is excluded, and it shadows every part of each one of us."
