Human Beings are designed to be social beings. Human relationships are essential for our mental, physical and spiritual health. They contribute immensely for our overall well-being. However, all human relationships have a downside, which we invariably have to face, and endure it.
People will let us down, and we get hurt. At times badly. We have to resolve, accept, or let go of the conflict that arises out of someone letting us down. If we don’t address the hurt, we will slip into bitterness. In other words, when the unresolved conflict is allowed to linger on, which, over a period of time, it breeds into bitterness. The hurt turning into bitterness has a timeframe, and a process; and it is in our hands to stop it.
It doesn’t do any good to hold on to hurt and pain. Such an action will only drag us deeper into the pit, and we will become ineffective and worthless to anyone, over a period of time. Let us not waste our time, talents and ourselves on matters that don’t help us at all.
"15 See to it that no one fails to obtain the grace of God; that no “root of bitterness” springs up and causes trouble, and by it many become defiled;" "18...Beware lest there be among you a root bearing poisonous and bitter fruit..."
