A friend of mine from my University days sent me a video recently. Today’s “THINK ABOUT IT” is based on it.
A man is seen addressing the convocation of a group of students in the video. He advises the young students, “Life and living is never easy. We shouldmake life and living easy for ourselves.” He then asks, “How can we make our lives easy?” He goes on to give three ways to make it easy. A very sound advise, especially to the young people.
Let me paraphrase and amplify what he says. Firstly, we can make it “easy” by being PATIENT with life and all its struggles. Secondly, we can make it “easy” by ENDURING life, and all its challenges. Thirdly, we can make life “easy” by IGNORING every obstacle, struggle and problem on most occasions, so that we do not give it much importance, but rather move on with life. Isn’t it an excellent advise from a wise man to the young men and women, about how to face life and to make it “easy” for ourselves? It sure is.
Let us see what the Bible has to say. The Word of God encourages us to face our trials JOYFULLY and PATIENTLY in James 1:2-4 – “2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.”
"What then are we to do about our problems? We must learn to live with them until such time as God delivers us from them. We must pray for grace to endure them without murmuring. Problems patiently endured will work for our spiritual perfecting. They harm us only when we resist them or endure them unwillingly."
