January 3, 2022To ‘BUY’ is to own something, by paying a certain price for it. Therefore, buying anything involves cost, effort, thought, and most importantly, the desire to own it.
The LORD Jesus, talks about the Kingdom of God through a parable in Matthew 13:44 following. A man sold his everything to buy the treasure; in the second parable a man sells everything he has to buy the pearl of great price.
44 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field.
45 Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: 46 Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.” – Matthew 13:44-46
Herein is wisdom. Let us do the same with the Word of God! Let us sell everything else that we have, so that we will own the WORD of GOD more fully than ever. Let us…in that sense, BUY the BOOK of the LORD, the BIBLE, in this new year. Let us read it, meditate upon it, and walk in its precepts, for a year of fruitfulness.
