Life of a Christian is much like a journey. It closely resembles the journey that the Hebrew “slaves” undertook from Egypt to the Promised. The “slaves” were redeemed by YAHWEH, from the vicious and vice-like grip of the Pharaoh, through a great show of power. We too were redeemed by the LORD, from Satan, through His sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary. What a parallel!
What followed after that mighty redemption, is a fascinating journey of faith, obedience, failure, sin, rebellion, faithfulness of God, His grace and His mercy, in helping the “slaves” turned People of God, to reach the Promised Land. What an adventurous journey!
Unknown Territory. Uncharted Territory. Tough Terrain. Uncertain Journey. Strange Journey. Don’t know when to stop. Don’t know when to start. Unskilled People. Unknown Plan. Journey only on the basis of Faith or Trust and Obedience.
The entire journey of the Hebrews, and ours too, hinges on two permanent spiritual concepts – FAITH and OBEDIENCE to God. How are we faring?
"The sum and substance of being a Christian is trusting Christ with the entirety of one's being. The height of the Christian life is adoring Christ, the depth of it loving Him, the breadth of it obeying Him, and the length of it following Him. Everything in the Christian life revolves around Jesus Christ. Simply put, Christianity is Christ."
