Questions, the right ones, are an important aspect of growing up, in our lives. Here is an important question, which I think, everyone one of us should be asking ourselves. It can be asked in two ways. The first – What is the most important thing for a human being? Now, the second – What is the most important thing in my life? Have we ever asked these questions? Have we asked these questions to ourselves? What answers have we come up with?
Both the questions have the same answer – to make God our priority, and walk accordingly. To make it simpler – to KNOW God, to LOVE God, and to LIVE for God – all the days of our lives, no matter what befalls us.
Nothing is more important to us, nor should anything be more precious, than, the LORD Jesus Christ, and His call upon us, to be His disciples. May these words be etched upon our hearts, permanently. Herein lies the whole duty of man, and in it, our blessing and our everything.
1- To KNOW GOD – ignorance of other things does not hurt or harm us, as much as not knowing God does.
– “3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.” – John 17:3
2- To LOVE GOD – to love God is to obey Him, wholeheartedly. Thus we tell Him, and to the whole world, that we love God.
– “4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one! 5 You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. 6 “And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart.” – Deuteronomy 6:4-6
3- To LIVE for God – is the most natural thing, for someone, who is transformed by God. It is a clear and definite indication to our changed heart, and our changed lives.
– “7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s. 9 For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living.” – Romans 14:7-9
Let us always remember these words. Let us learn to be focused, disciplined and committed, to walk the path that the LORD Jesus had called us to. There is nothing more greater, and nothing more important than God, and His call.
– “3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You. 4 Trust in the LORD forever, For in YAH, the LORD, is everlasting strength.” – Isaiah 26:3-4
May we always seek to be His worthy children, disciples and ambassadors. Even so the LORD help us.
"Keep God first. If you do that, if you just focus on God and keeping Him first, then everything else will just take care of itself. Do everything for Him."
