January 24, 2023The last days, about which the Bible talks, are not somewhere in the future. We are in fact, living in them. Look at the Churches, Christians and the preachers and teachers, and we will know where we are. The Word of God lists some sure signs, that we can see in the last days, and also advises us, about what to do, and how to go about it. Let us read what the Bible says.
1- FALLING AWAY FIRST, OF MANY ‘CHRISTIANS’ – “3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;” – 2 Thessalonians 2:3
2- PEOPLE IN THE LAST DAYS – “1 This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; 5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.” – 2 Timothy 3:1-5
3- PEOPLE WILL TURN AWAY FROM THE ESTABLISHED TRUTH – “3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; 4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.” – 2 Timothy 4:3-4
4- GODLY IN CHRIST WILL BE PERSECUTED – “12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.” – 2 Timothy 3:12-13
5- CHRISTIANS, HOLD FAST TO THE TRUTH – “15 Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.” – 2 Thessalonians 2:15
6- DO NOT HEED TO ANY OTHER VOICE – “8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.” – Galatians 1:8-9
May the LORD help us to hold fast to the truth, and walk faithfully in it.
