The Bible, in many places, urges us, the children of God, and also, the people of the whole world to “SING TO GOD…SING PRAISES TO THE LORD” with all our hearts. David, writing in Psalm 68 says the same thing in verse thirty two.
– “32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth; Oh, sing praises to the Lord, Selah” – Psalm 68:32
At other places the Bible says…
– “1 It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High;” – Psalm 92:1
– “1 Praise the LORD! For it is good to sing praises to our God; For it is pleasant, and praise is beautiful.” – Psalm 147:1
– “1 Praise the LORD! Praise the name of the LORD; Praise Him, O you servants of the LORD!” – Psalm 135:1
– “3 Praise the LORD, for the LORD is good; Sing praises to His name, for it is pleasant.” – Psalm 135:3
When we consider the reasons as to why we should SING to GOD, and SING PRAISES to the LORD, we understand that, if ever there is anyone who truly deserves our praise and our worship, then it is God Almighty, our Creator, and the LORD Jesus who chose to die for us on the Cross of Calvary. Here under are a few reasons why we should sing praises to the LORD.
– PRAISE GOD FOR THE CREATION and HIS REDEMPTION
– PRAISE GOD FOR HIS PRECIOUS and PRICELESS PROVIDENCE
– PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS LOVE and HIS FAITHFULNESS
The Berean Study Bible Notes, commenting on Psalm 68:32 notes these following words, which help us see the reason and the purpose of singing praises to our God, as an act of our worship to Him.
– “Worship is the fitting response to God’s power, righteousness, and saving acts. The Lord is not a regional deity dependent upon one nation’s devotion; He is the sovereign ruler before whom kings and kingdoms are accountable. Israel’s songs of praise in the temple pointed beyond themselves to the worldwide worship of God by those redeemed through Christ. Believers now join that praise with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, declaring His glory among the nations.” – Berean Study Bible Notes
Dear brothers and sisters what more reasons can we come up as to why we should “SING TO GOD…SING PRAISES TO THE LORD” our Creator and Redeemer? Let us take time this morning, to THINK ABOUT IT, and come up with our own personal reasons for why we should praise the LORD our God. Even so, the LORD Jesus help us.
"God is to be admired and adored with reverence and godly fear, by all that attend in his holy places. The God of Israel gives strength and power unto his people. Through Christ strengthening us we can do all things, not otherwise; therefore he must have the glory of all we do, with our humble thanks for enabling us to do it, and for accepting the work of his hands in us."
