Singing is such a wonderful thing! Singing is inalienably associated with happiness, joy and celebrations. In other words, it is an indication that things are going smoothly, and in the general direction of peace and prosperity. This is normal and general understanding.
The Psalmist exhorts us through Psalms 68:4-6, to sing praises to the LORD, and extol the LORD God Almighty, for WHO He is, and WHAT He has done and is doing. This in other words, whatever may be our situation, it is good for us to praise God, by remember WHO He is, and WHAT He has done. This is Christian counter culture to the popular narrative.
“4 Sing unto God, sing praises to his name:
extol him that rideth upon the heavens by his name JAH, and rejoice before him.
5 A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation.
6 God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:
but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.” – Psalms 68:4-6.
YAHWEH is “A father of the fatherless, and a judge of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. He setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains:” What more reasons do we need to praise the LORD, and sing unto Him songs of praise and worship? So why wait?
"Worship is the submission of all our nature to God. It is the quickening of conscience by His holiness, the nourishment of the mind with His truth, the purifying of the imagination of His beauty, the opening of the heart to His love, the surrender of the will to His purpose."
