Weather is unpredictable, is the general view of people, all over the world. Just like the weather, life is also unpredictable. Weather can change from bright and sunny day, to a cloudy and dark day, in no time. Life seems to imitate the climate – it too can change from an amazing time, to a terribly disheartening and depressing one, pretty soon…may be, instantly…just like the weather.
Thankfully, the LORD who is our Creator, and our Redeemer, is never far away from us. The Bible says, He is right beside us. Isn’t that comforting? It sure is my friend? Whenever things go bad, just like the weather, I weather it, by recollecting who our God is, as written for us in the Bible. I will encourage you, to please read through the following words, from the Bible. They may not be words spoken to us directly, but the underlying principles, and the promises of God, speak to us very clearly about His nature, and His character. This is essential for us and our survival, while going through any tough times.
– “15 Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go, and will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done what I have spoken to you.” – Genesis 28:15
– “6 Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the LORD your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.” – Deuteronomy 31:6
– “8 And the LORD, He is the One who goes before you. He will be with you, He will not leave you nor forsake you; do not fear nor be dismayed.” -Deuteronomy 31:8
The LORD who stood with His people in the past, as seen in these verses, is the same God to us too, even today. So let us not worry about anything that is troubling us. Rather, let us, like Asaph, declare loudly – “25 Whom have I in heaven but You? And there is none upon earth that I desire besides You. 26 My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:25-26. Let us learn to trust our God, to help us in times of trouble; let us learn to obey our LORD, in all that He is asking of us. Even so the LORD help us.
"5...as I was with Moses, so I will be with you. I will not leave you nor forsake you. 6 Be strong and of good courage...7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go."
