People and the world will suspect, dislike and hate us as Christians. This has been the way the world had treated us, and will always will be so.
We are law abiding citizens of any nation. We are honest, hardworking, and always contributing to the welfare and the upliftment of the fellow citizens, and the nation itself. The history stands witness to our selfless contribution to every nation that Christians are citizens of. Yet this animosity? Yet this suspicion? Yet this mistrust? Yet this hate? Yet this intense dislike?
Christians are pronounced guilty with no evidence of wrong doing whatsoever. Who cares for any evidence any how? We are the “enemy” because of our Christian faith. That is the stumbling block. We are non-violent and harmless in our thinking and our life. Yet, people take offence, because we are not inclusive and accommodative. We owe no allegiance to the world.
Christians, as the history stands record, were always treated “extra judicially.” Can Christians complain? There are no takers my friend. Can we seek justice? Unfortunately we are citizens with bare minimum rights, if not no rights at all. Can we ask for our fundamental rights? The most likely answer will be, “You Christians should be happy that you are allowed to live as you are. That is all that you will get. This in itself is a great favour. You should be grateful about it.”
Take no offence. Such a response is on expected lines. When our Redeemer Himself was ridiculed, and ruthlessly murdered, what should we expect as His disciples? The LORD who called us into His light will guide us through this maze. Let us hold on to the LORD. Let us seek His face. Let us continue steadfastly on the way our LORD is leading us. Let us live for the LORD, no matter what. This is what we are called to; let us live for the LORD.
"The apostles went away rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for the name of Christ, that they were graced so far as to be disgraced for the name of Christ!"
