For a Christian, troubles are expected. Since we are still in the flesh, the possibility of messing things is not ruled out. When times of trouble fall upon us, it reveals our capacity to handle it, and more importantly, the source of our strength.
David had a particularly tough season of trouble, as we see in Psalm 38. The primary reason for his trouble is his sin – verses 3, 4. He does not hide his sin, nor gives any excuses. David approaches God, with all his failures, plain and straight.
The turning point is David’s source of strength. He says this in, Psalms 38:15, 21-22 – ’15 For in thee, O LORD, do I hope: thou wilt hear, O Lord my God.”
“21 Forsake me not, O LORD:
O my God, be not far from me.
22 Make haste to help me,
O Lord my salvation.”
Let us remember that the LORD God Almighty, is the source of our strength. For He alone cares for us. For He alone is capable, and is willing to help us. Let us learn to lean upon Him, and learn to trust Him at all times. He is faithful and He is gracious. He will stand with us.
"Remembering the goodness of God in the past, will help us in seasons where it's harder to see Him"
