June 25, 2023Christians were a favourite for persecution, for the powers of the world. This is what history records. The god of this world, the prince of darkness, hates God Almighty. All that hate from the pits of hell is directed towards Christians, because of the place and the position bestowed upon us, by the LORD.
It is not only the hate for the LORD God Almighty, but also, the work of transformation the LORD is doing through the Church, is a major issue for the hate of Christians. No one has any objections if someone converts to any religion, except Christianity. Herein is the reason for all this hate.
On 24 June 64 AD, Nero, the reigning Emperor of the Roman empire, begins the first imperial persecution of Christians. They were persecuted, sporadically and usually locally, throughout the Roman Empire from the very beginning. Christians were targeted by the Roman empire, because Christians were unwilling to participate and practice certain beliefs and religious practices, such as, making sacrifices to the deified emperors or other gods. The state and the other members of civic society punished Christians for treason, various rumoured crimes, illegal assembly, and for introducing an alien cult that led to Roman religion’s apostasy.
The desire to persecute and punish Christians hasn’t changed over the centuries. The hate for Christians, and their persecution is not going to change in the future too. It is good to know that, the LORD who led us so far, will lead us in the future too. He never left us, nor will he leave us. No force on the face of the earth can stop us, and destroy the Church.
