How comforting, encouraging and uplifting it is, to hear these words from the Bible, the written Word of God? It speaks so clearly the heart of God and His desire for us and our welfare.
– “14 The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.” – Psalm 145:14
There are surely times when we doubt if the LORD is with us. Many times we may feel that our God is not with us. Many times we may assume we are all alone in our struggles and storms.
Let us all be encouraged that such a thing is far from truth. Yes, it is true, we may not feel that the LORD is with us and standing for us. However, we should realise that it is but our feeling, and not the reality or the truth. The following words from Psalm 145 should rice away any more lingering doubts…
– “15 The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.”
– “16 Thou openest thine hand, and satisfiest the desire of every living thing.”
– “17 The LORD is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works.”
– “18 The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.”
– “19 He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: he also will hear their cry, and will save them.”
– “20 The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.” – Psalm 145:15-20
May we never ever doubt about God walking with us. Let us remember always that, God is with us, whether we feel it or not. Let us not base our faith upon what and how we feel. Rather, let us trust what the LORD had spoken to us, in and through His written Word of God. If ever, we have fallen into trouble because of our sin, let us humble ourselves honestly, and seek God’s face for forgiveness and restoration, which He would, ever so gladly – Parable of the Prodigal Son. Even so the LORD help us.
"God’s compassion is especially evident toward those who fall and fail. He does not despise or reject them; there is a sense in which He specially draws near them to hold them up. If they allow their fall to rightly humble them, God will draw near and uphold them."
