THE NAME OF THE LORD – JEHOVAH RAPHA

The name of the LORD, and all that is related is, WHOLISTIC and WHOLESOME! Wholesome name…wholesome gospel…wholesome life – in short, WHOLESOME GOD is what is revealed in Proverbs 18:10, and in all the names of the LORD God Almighty. Therefore, the LORD is our tower and our refuge…

The next name of the LORD for our meditation, helps us see how the LORD is concerned for our wholistic health. We are talking about JEHOVAH RAPHA, which means “THE LORD IS MY HEALER!” This brings into light, God’s ability to heal and restore us, the fallen and sick world.
– “26 And said, If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the LORD that healeth thee.” – Exodus 15:26

God of the Bible thinks wholistically,  when He is dealing with the fallen human race. For who can think wholistically about us, if not for the One who created us? Yes, since YAHWEH created us, only He knows that what we need, in terms of redemption, restoration and rejuvenation is, a wholistic and wholesome healing. Our PHYSICAL, MENTAL, EMOTIONAL, MORAL and SPIRITUAL healing is what, wholesome healing of YAHWEH, is all about.

This wholesome healing, as we see from Exodus 15:26, that touches and transforms our physical, mental, emotional, moral and spiritual health, is possible, only when we…
1- diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD our God
2- wilt do that which is right in his sight
3- wilt give ear to his commandments
4- keep all his statutes

God of the Bible is not some “puppet” that can be manipulated, and made to work for us. Sadly, man attempts at such things, all too often. The key to our wholesome healing, that touches and transforms our physical, mental, emotional, moral and spiritual dimensions is, only when we demonstrate, faith and obedience, in our thoughts, words and deeds.

May the LORD help us to love Him, and live for Him faithfully and obediently, in all aspects of our lives, so that JEHOVAH RAPHA would bring His wholesome healing into our lives. Even so the LORD help us.
