To whom do we run to, and to whom do we cry out, in times of need? We may have our dear friends, and our set of wise counsellors, to help us with insights and wisdom, in tackling the issues at hand. Such a source of help is good and wise.
However, human help is limited, and at times could go terribly wrong. The loving friends of Job, are a very fine example, of how the wisdom of men can go horribly wrong. This does not mean, we should not seek help from our friends and dear ones. It is important for us to know that human wisdom can fail. Therefore we have to be wise.
The LORD wants us to know that, He is always willing to help and guide us. He is truly interested in our welfare, and He alone can guide us well. The Bible says…
– “8 It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man. 9 It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.” – Psalm 118:8-9
This is not to say, we should not trust man. Rather, it is to say, we ought to put God first…over and above our friends, and wise advisers.
When we cry out to the LORD for wisdom and help, He will surely help us. He will never shut the door on our faces, when we sincerely cry out to Him.
– “6 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He delivered them out of their distresses.” – Psalm 107:6
May the LORD help us, to seek Him, at all times…especially during tough and troubling times. The LORD cares for us, and He will make our paths straight. Trust Him, and seek Him at all times.
"Thy way, not mine, O Lord, however dark it be; lead me by thine own hand; choose out the path for me."
