WHAT DOES “BEING A WITNESS FOR THE LORD JESUS INVOLVE?”

Let us ask ourselves this morning, WHAT DOES “BEING A WITNESS FOR THE LORD JESUS INVOLVE?” This is an important question one needs to ask, because it involves a cost to be paid by us, and a conduct to be had on our part. The LORD says in the Bible to count the cost of our commitment to Christ our Redeemer. 
– “27 And whoever does not bear his cross and come after Me cannot be My disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it…33 So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.” – Luke 14:27-28,34

As I see, being a witness for the LORD Jesus involves or requires from us four important things. 
– OUR PERSONAL FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
– OUR LIVES CLEARLY AND VISIBLY TRANSFORMED BY THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
– PREACH THE GOSPEL AT ALL TIMES AND BY ALL MEANS
– OUR MENTAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL AND SPIRITUAL PREPAREDNESS TO FACE ANY EVENTUALITY FOR BEING THE DISCIPLE OF THE LORD JESUS CHRIST

Let us look at the above four points in the coming days, and try to understand what do each of the four points require from us. For our meditation this morning, let us look at the first point.

1- OUR PERSONAL FAITH IN THE LORD JESUS CHRIST
We have to place our faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, even before anything else is taken into account. 
– This saving faith, firstly is a reflection of our realisation and the subsequent recognition, that we are sinners who are lost, and cannot save ourselves by any means and methods.
– Secondly, we confess our sins to the LORD God Almighty, our Creator and our Redeemer, the LORD Jesus Christ.
– Thirdly, we place our faith in the finished work of the LORD Jesus Christ, and accept or receive His gracious free gift of salvation.

A genuine Christian is someone who truly places his faith in the LORD Jesus Christ and His finished work of salvation. How about us this morning? Have we truly placed our faith in the LORD Jesus?  It is good for us to pause and ponder over the above words. Let us ensure that we are truly Christian. Even so, the LORD Jesus help us.
