When we encounter the LORD Jesus Christ, we are no more the same old person. Such is that encounter, that our lives are transformed, inside out. We think, speak and do things differently…and the change in us, would be, visible to all around us.
Look at the twelve disciples; look at Saul turned Paul; look at all the early Christians…their lives took a 180 degree turn. What a life, and what a transformation. They lived for God, and were all, willing to die for Jesus of Nazareth.
Let us consider the life of Charles “Chuck” Colson (1931–2012). He was the first member of President Richard Nixon’s team to be jailed over the Watergate scandal in the 1970s. Charles Colson latter, became a follower of Christ. His conversion, in his middle-ages, triggered radical changes in his life. He went on to start, “Prison Fellowship International,” which is now reaching offenders and their families in 117 countries. This is transformation, when one truly encounters Christ Jesus of Nazareth. No one else can have such an impact on the lives of fallen and evil human beings.
How is our life? Is there any visible change in us? Are our hearts transformed? Do we desire for different things? Who governs us, our thoughts, our words and our deeds? Let us pause to have look into our hearts. Let us not fool ourselves. Even so the LORD help us.
"I know the resurrection is a fact, and Watergate proved it to me. How? Because 12 men testified they had seen Jesus raised from the dead, then they proclaimed that truth for 40 years, never once denying it. Every one was beaten, tortured, stoned and put in prison. They would not have endured that if it weren't true. Watergate embroiled 12 of the most powerful men in the world-and they couldn't keep a lie for three weeks. You're telling me 12 apostles could keep a lie for 40 years? Absolutely impossible."
