Mother plays such an important role in the life of the family, and the growth of the children. Such is the influence bestowed by the Creator to the woman, who may appear to many, frail and fragile.
Though she may seemingly appear fragile, yet she is extremely strong and resilient. But for her gifted abilities, she would never be able to cope with the pressures of being a woman, a daughter, the wife, a mother, and so many other things, rolled into one. Despite all the demands of her responsibilities, she gracefully handles them all, without losing out on her enthusiasm for her family, and her active and intentional contribution for its success.
The above description may sound fictional and a fantasy to some. Some may count this chauvinistic and archaic. Nonetheless, I rather believe the Word of God, than the thinking trends floating around – Proverbs 31:10-31.
I have seen many a woman like the above. One such woman is my mother. Highly talented, extremely efficient, loving, kind, generous, humble, spendthrift, wise…a team player, a fun loving and enterprising woman. She is also someone, when required, can put her foot down. She has no fear and can stand alone uncompromisingly, if required, without hesitating even for a moment.
She knows how to hold herself in a dignified manner. She knows how to handle her fears and concerns. She knows when to speak and how much.
Sadly, I find such strong yet gentle women to be a rarity these days. Strong women build strong homes. Strong homes build strong societies and strong nations. Many times strong is misinterpreted and misread as being brash, brazen, crude and arrogant. It is, mistaking ignorance and foolishness for courage and strength. May the LORD help us raise strong women.
"The fact that I am a woman does not make me a different kind of Christian, but the fact that I am a Christian makes me a different kind of woman."
