Church history records an amazing desire for prayer, and the pursuit of the same. On 27th August 1727, Count Nicolaus von Zinzendorf’s Moravian community at Herrnhut, Germany, begins a round-the-clock “prayer chain.” Reportedly, at least one person in the community was praying every minute of the day – for more than a century. Isn’t that amazing? It sure is! It is a passionate pursuit of God through prayer. What a desire it is!!! What a pursuit of the same!!!
The Bible has a lot to speak on the subject of prayer. The Word of God speaks with such unmistakable clarity. It is good for us to pay attention. Christians ought to be praying at all times, for all kinds of needs, and for all people…including our enemies. Prayer is a weapon, and it is the responsibility of every child of God. When the weakest of weak saint prays, he moves the omnipotent muscles of God. How wonderful!!!
Prayer is essential and ought to be practiced passionately, and persistently by every Christian.
“1 Then He spoke a parable to them, that men always ought to pray and not lose heart,” therefore “17 pray without ceasing,” and “18 praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—” Therefore, “2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;” – Luke 18:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:17, Ephesians 6:18, Colossians 4:2
Therefore, let us pray unceasingly, at all times with passion and persistence.
"Prayer is the slender nerve that moves the muscle of omnipotence."
