The early Church history records of the seven elderly Christian women and their stand for their Saviour. These women refused to disown their LORD. They would rather be martyred, which was considered more honourable thing to do, than to renounce their faith.
The desire of these women to stand for their Redeemer, has earned them death by drowning, on 18th May 304, that is today, about 1700 plus years back, at Ancyra, which is in modern Turkey. The same is recorded by Theodotus, Bishop of Ancyra, of Galatia, which is in modern Turkey.
May the LORD help us to display such courage and conviction in standing for our LORD and Saviour Jesus Christ. May the prayer of Paul be ours too “20 According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. 21 For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” – Philippians 1:20-21
"They, then, who are destined to die, need not be careful to inquire what death they are to die, but into what place death will usher them."
