The best way forward for a Christian is to walk with the LORD. The only one who truly cares about us, and our welfare is, our Redeemer. He longs for our good, and works only for our benefit. What is expected of us as Christians and His disciples is, to faithfully and obediently walk with the LORD. No matter where He is leading us, and what the surroundings look like, we ought to continue walking with the LORD. This is all that is asked of us.
Do we remember, “Trust and Obey,” the beautiful English hymn? In one of the revival meetings of D. L. Moody in 1887, a young man who had just given his life to the Lord Jesus Christ was heard saying, ‘I am not quite sure – I am going to trust and obey.’ Professor Daniel Towner, who was present there, heard these words. The hymn “Trust and Obey” was born right there. John Sammis wrote the lyrics based on the words of this young man. Professor Daniel Towner composed the music. What a hymn it is for our “Walk With the LORD.”
When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way;
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.
Trust and obey,
For there’s no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
May the LORD help us to “WALK WITH THE LORD” in faith and obedience.
"The Bible recognizes no faith that does not lead to obedience, nor does it recognize any obedience that does not spring from faith. The two are at opposite sides of the same coin.""
