David, writing Psalm 103 says this about LORD God of all creation, and that of the heaven and the earth…
– “3 From the rising of the sun to its going down The LORD’s name is to be praised.” – Psalms 113:3
What a wonderful statement is this!!! David, who has such intimate fellowship with his God, right from a young age, understands that praise belongs to God and God alone. HalleluYah!!!
The apostle John, recording the vision God gave him, in the book of Revelation, writes this about the statement of the twenty four elders in chapter 4…
– “11 “You are worthy, O Lord, To receive glory and honour and power; For You created all things, And by Your will they exist and were created.” – Revelation 4:11
Matthew Henry noting in his commentary on Psalm 113, has these words for our benefit…
– “God’s name ought to be praised in every place, from east to west. Within this wide space the Lord’s name is to be praised; it ought to be so, though it is not. Ere long it will be, when all nations shall come and worship before him.”
Someone may ask, “Why should we praise God?” The Bible, answers this question with sufficient clarity. Here under are a few verses for our contemplation…
– “3 Know that the LORD, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.” – Psalms 100:3
– “1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies,5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” – Psalms 103:1-5
– “8 The LORD is merciful and gracious, Slow to anger, and abounding in mercy…10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, Nor punished us according to our iniquities.” – Psalms 103:8-10
– “13 As a father pities his children, So the LORD pities those who fear Him. 14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are dust.” – Psalms 103:13-14
Do we need any more evidence or reasons to praise God? Let us join David, and shout out, all the days of our lives, come what may, our way…
– “3 From the rising of the sun to its going down The LORD’s name is to be praised.”
We know who our LORD is. He has shown to us, very clearly, who we are, and who He is. We need no further explanations, nor any more reasons – let us praise our LORD and Redeemer, all the days of our lives. Even so the LORD help us.
"Doth not all nature around me praise God? If I were silent, I should be an exception to the universe. Doth not the thunder praise Him as it rolls like drums in the march of the God of armies? Do not the mountains praise Him when the woods upon their summits wave in adoration? Doth not the lightning write His name in letters of fire? Hath not the whole earth a voice? And shall I, can I, silent be?"
