GLEANINGS FROM MY LIFE

Life teaches each of us a lot of things. If we keep our eyes and ears open, we will see a full range of colours in the rays of light. If not, we simply see it as “white.” Time flies, so let us be wise, and get things in order, before it is time-up.

I have made a list of things that life has taught me. They are a blessing to me. Hope they will be to you too.

1- Love people with all your heart, and not things.
2- Be quick to forgive, for it frees you more than the other.
3- Use words carefully. Once spoken, they cannot be taken back.
4- Remember always those who helped us in our need.
5- Don’t listen to gossip. Always verify with your own eyes and ears. If not possible; let it go.
6- People can taking advantage of your goodness. Beware and be wise.
7- Always honour your word – no matter the situation.
8- If you have borrowed money from someone, remember to repay it as soon as possible.
9- People are important. Nothing comes even close.
10- “Money is a good slave, and a bad master.”
11- One need not possess great riches to enjoy life.
12- Learn to appreciate more, and criticise less.
13- If you wish to see the good in people you will find it. If you wish to see the bad, then you will find it too.
14- Always speak the truth. Speak the truth…but always in love.
15- Better to speak the truth and incur loss. Than speak a lie and gain a profit.
16- Silence is better than conflict.
17- Let not problems, troubles and difficulties determine your response.
18- Your honour in being honest in character is precious and priceless; it is more valuable than anything else in this world.
19- People may arrive at their own conclusions about you…you don’t waver nor dilute your stand.
20- Always give the benefit of doubt to the other person.
21- Be compassionate towards people; and yet uncompromising in your values, ethics and principles.
22- Remember, life is a journey and not the destination.
23- All the good that we have is but the grace of God. Therefore, nothing to be proud of.
24- A lasting legacy is not in our achievements and possessions. It is in the memory we leave behind in the hearts and minds of the people, about our time on earth.
25- We should always remember our beginnings. This will keep our feet firmly on the ground, however high we may rise in life.
