Life, as we walk through its paths, will make us go through all kinds of situations, and a myriad of permutations and combinations. There will be times when we would be overshadowed by darkness and doubts. When we seek for help and guidance, there would be none to our satisfaction. At such times as those, we are called to walk by faith, and not by sight.
– “7 For we walk by faith, not by sight.” – 2 Corinthians 5:7
– “4 “Behold the proud, His soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith.” – Habakkuk 2:4
Here under are a few lessons the LORD Jesus had taught me to do, when the times are dark and there is no clarity. I am sure they would be a blessing to you too.
1- THE LORD SAID HE WILL HELP US
The LORD God Almighty, our Creator and our Redeemer had promised us that He will surely help us. This is what should become the foundation on which we build our lives. The promises of God should be the path on which we walk. He who promised us is no man like you and me. He is the very God Himself, the LORD Jesus Christ.
– “9 You whom I have taken from the ends of the earth, And called from its farthest regions, And said to you, ‘You are My servant, I have chosen you and have not cast you away: 10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’” – Isaiah 41:9-10
2- HOW IS THE LORD GOING TO HELP US?…I DON’T KNOW YET…
We want to know everything even before we begin anything. It is a natural human tendency. God, thankfully does not work on our whims and fancies. God does not work according to our plans. God most certainly does not work according to our time schedules. We have to trust God and His judgment, and walk in faith.
– “1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. 2 For by it the elders obtained a good testimony.” – Hebrews 11:1-2
3- THIS ONE THING I KNOW…
When everything around us is dark, and there seems to be no guiding light shining on our path; this is when we have to look deep into our hearts, and search for all what the LORD had done for us in the past. This is the light given by God Himself to help us. Such a help is called in simpler words, OUR PAST EXPERIENCES. These experiences are placed by God in our lives, precisely for such times are these. They build our faith. Such a faith in God’s goodness and grace from our past, will give us the needed strength and courage, to walk the present darkness, with confidence.
– GOD STOOD WITH ME IN THE PAST
– GOD NEVER ABANDONED ME WHEN I PLACED MY FAITH IN HIM
– GOD IS TRUSTWORTHY AND FAITHFUL
– GOD IS GOD ALMIGHTY, TO WHOM NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE
– “37 Moreover David said, “The LORD, who delivered me from the paw of the lion and from the paw of the bear, He will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.”…” – 1 Samuel 17:37
4- THEREFORE…TRUST GOD AT ALL TIMES, AND WALK IN FAITH AND OBEDIENCE
Never doubt God. He is good, gracious and loving. Instead, let us trust God at all times, and in all situations. Let us walk in faith and obedience. May our LORD Jesus be lifted up and glorified in and through our lives.
– “1 Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith…” – Hebrews 12:1-2
If THE LORD SAID HE WILL… Then I don’t need to ask HOW?…Even though I DON’T KNOW YET… I already know from my past experiences that He is FAITHFUL and TRUSTWORTHY… So I simply step forward in FAITH and OBEDIENCE. Even so, the LORD Jesus help us.
"[David's testimony in 1 Samuel 17:37]...shows faith in action. David remembers God’s past rescues, trusts Him for present deliverance, and inspires reluctant leadership to release him into battle. The verse reminds believers that testimony fuels faith, God’s power dwarfs every enemy, and His abiding presence guarantees victory for those who rely on Him."
