Faith and works are always at odds when it comes to salvation offered by God. Works don’t save us, nor can we impress upon God with our works. It simply doesn’t work. “”For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God…”” [ Eph 2:8]
So, what about ‘works’ in the life of a Christian? A tree is expected to bear fruit. So also, a Christian is expected of good works. Works are a reflection of God’s grace working in us.
The Word of God is amply clear…””What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him”” [James 2:14-26]
Fruit as works speak about our changed status in Christ. “”Ye shall know them by their fruits…Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit…Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”” [Mat 7:16-20]
1-Let the light of the LORD be SEEN in your WORKS.
2-Our good works are VISIBLE in our WORDS and DEEDS.
3-Words and deeds PROCEED out of our THOUGHTS.
4-Thoughts are directed by our MOTIVES.
