All through the history of the “People of God,” one factor remains consistent – persecution. It comes in various ways, yet the intention is the same – to hurt, harm and destroy the people of God – John 10:10a.
Whatever may be the situation in the world; however severe may be the persecution, we don’t need to lose sleep over it. It will be painful and hurting, but the comfort is in the truth, that the LORD is with us. He will never leave us, nor forsake us. – Hebrews 13:5b, Deuteronomy 31:6,8.
The LORD Jesus says – “10 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake.
12 Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.” – Matthew 5:10-12
Therefore, “If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” and “1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”– 1 Peter 4:14; Psalms 91:1
"Persecution is one of the natural consequences of living the Christian life. It is to the Christian what “growing pains” are to the growing child. No pain, no development. No suffering, no glory. No struggle, no victory. No persecution, no reward."
