The LORD Jesus speaking to the disciples in Matthew 16:24, says something that we should take note of. “24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.“
Solomon the wise writing in Ecclesiastes 3:1, has this to say. “1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:“
Paul, speaking to the Christians at Rome in Romans 8:28, has these encouraging words for us. “28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
Paul, writing to the Church at Thessalonica, says, “18 In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
As we walk our journey as a Christian and the disciple of the LORD Jesus Christ, let us walk faithfully and obediently, and “…let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith…” – Hebrews 12:1-2
"Some suffering is given in order to chastise and correct a person for wrongful patterns of life (as in the case of Jonah imperiled by the storm), some suffering is given not to correct past wrongs but to prevent future ones (as in the case of Joseph sold into slavery), and some suffering has no purpose other than to lead a person to love God more ardently for himself alone and so discover the ultimate peace and freedom."
