OH LORD, HOW CAN I THANK YOU ENOUGH?

When I think about myself and all what I have received from the LORD Jesus Christ, all that I can utter are these words, “OH LORD, HOW CAN I THANK YOU ENOUGH?” Have you thought on these lines in the recent past? Do you think it is important for us to think in these lines? 
– “12 What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me?” – Psalm 116:12
The Amplified Bible gives us a little more clarity about what the Psalmist wants to say.
– “12 What will I give to the LORD [in return] For all His benefits toward me? [How can I repay Him for His precious blessings?]” – Psalm 116:12 – Amplified Bible

Let us ask ourselves some pointer questions, and look into the written Word of God to get some responses to it. The LORD has spoken through His Word in the past, and He still speaks to us.

1- WHAT HAVE WE RECEIVED FROM THE LORD?
– “​1 Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! 2 Bless the LORD, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: 3 Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, 4 Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, 5 Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” – Psalm 103:1-5

2- ALL WHAT WE RECEIVE FROM THE LORD HAS COMES AT A PRICE
– “…you are not your own? 20 For you were bought at a price; therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.” – 1 Corinthians 6:19b-20

3- CAN WE GIVE ANYTHING IN RETURN TO THE LORD FOR ALL WHAT WE HAVE RECEIVED AT HIS HAND?
– “6 With what shall I come before the LORD, And bow myself before the High God? Shall I come before Him with burnt offerings, With calves a year old?7 Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams, Ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, The fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?” – Micah 6:6-7

4- OUR GRATITUDE FOR GOD SHOULD FLOW BUT NATURALLY
– “20 giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,” – Ephesians 5:20
– “​1 I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth…3 Oh, magnify the LORD with me, And let us exalt His name together.” – Psalm 34:1,3

5- LET OUR GRATITUDE TOWARDS GOD BE NOT LIMITED TO SOME SPECIAL OCCASIONS
– “15 Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” – Hebrews 13:15

6- OUR GRATITUDE TOWARDS GOD SHOULD BE SEEN IN OUR THOUGHTS, WORDS AND DEEDS
– “8 He has shown you, O man, what is good; And what does the LORD require of you But to do justly, To love mercy, And to walk humbly with your God?” – Micah 6:8

7- LET OUR GRATITUDE BE OUR ATTITUDE IN ALL CIRCUMSTANCES
– “18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” – 1 Thessalonians 5:18
– “20 Then Job arose, tore his robe, and shaved his head; and he fell to the ground and worshiped. 21 And he said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, And naked shall I return there. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; Blessed be the name of the LORD.” 22 In all this Job did not sin nor charge God with wrong.” – Job 1:20-22
– “9 Then his wife said to him, “Do you still hold fast to your integrity? Curse God and die!” 10 But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women speaks. Shall we indeed accept good from God, and shall we not accept adversity?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.” – Job 2:9-10

OH LORD, HOW CAN I THANK YOU ENOUGH? Honestly speaking we cannot thank God enough for all what we have received, are receiving and will be receiving. Let us earnestly pray that the LORD Jesus would grant us grace to be always grateful and thankful for all what we have received from Him. May we always seek Him with all our heart, praising Him, thanking Him and worshipping Him at all times, and in all circumstances. For there is nothing better than this, for a Christian to do. Even so, the LORD help us.
