Many times it appears as though the LORD has no say in the way things are going in the world. The chaos and the confusion can make us believe that the world seems to be on its own, with not godly control over it. Nothing can be far from the truth. The LORD God Almighty, the Creator of all things, the LORD Jesus Christ is Sovereign, and is the King who reigns over all, despite how it might appear to our eyes.
– “10 Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns; The world also is firmly established, It shall not be moved; He shall judge the peoples righteously.” – Psalm 96:10
1- “SAY AMONG THE NATIONS…”
The Psalmist is declaring loud and clear, “SAY AMONG THE NATIONS…” This is a declaration to everyone in the world. It is a truthful declaration. The world can ignore it, only at its peril.
2- “THE LORD REIGNS”
The bold assertion of the Psalmist is to declare that YAHWEH is the only King; and He is the only One who is on the throne. He is the only One who has the power and the means to reign sovereign over all the nations.
3- HE SHALL JUDGE THE PEOPLES RIGHTEOUSLY.”
YAHWEH is not only the Ruler over everything seen and unseen, but is also the righteous Judge. His justice is based upon His immutable righteousness. All His judgements are fair and just. Yes, the LORD God of the Bible, shall judge all the world…righteously.
Dear brothers and sisters, if ever we are confronted with situations where we wonder “Where is God in the midst of all this?” – take heart, the LORD Jesus is on His throne. He has always been; and He will always be. He is the only Ruler over the nations. He is the only Judge, and all His judgements are righteous and just. Let us always remember this. Let us always walk in this knowledge. Let us always seek the LORD’s face to help us know this truth, and walk in it, in faith and in obedience. Even so, the LORD help us.
"The LORD, the covenant God of His people, is King over every land, ruler, and people. God created the world with order and sustains it by His power. Human kingdoms rise and fall, wars disturb nations, and creation itself groans under sin, yet God’s purposes cannot be overturned. The stability of the created order testifies that history is not ruled by chance or chaos but moves under the providence of its Maker...The King of all the earth judges without corruption, partiality, or error. He sees every hidden act and will vindicate righteousness while holding evil accountable."
