“Rising from the ashes” is an expression that alludes to the legendary Phoenix, a bird that supposedly rose from the ashes of its funeral pyre with renewed youth. It means to emerge stronger, smarter and more powerful from a catastrophe or a disaster.
“Rising up from a defeat or a failure” is one of the most critical factors for success in life. The reality of life is such that we face disappointments, discouragements and failures more number of times than success. This is the process of life.
Therefore, how one handles failure will greatly influence, how our lives will turn out to be. Hence, the English proverb, “Failure is the stepping stone to success.” This is the attitude with which we should face life, and all that it throws at us.
As Christians, we don’t need to unduly worry and fear life, and all that it throws at us. We should learn to face life with courage and strength – “16 For a righteous man may fall seven times, And rise again…” – Proverbs 24:16
The courage and the strength must be drawn from the LORD, who is always with us; and He will help us – “19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all.” – Psalms 34:19
"23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, And He delights in his way. 24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the LORD upholds him with His hand."
