February 10, 2022The are great many brilliant people in this world. There are many who are extremely sharp and intelligent. They understand complicated things just like that. It is like a piece of cake for them. It is amazing to see their brilliance.
The Bible, which is the Word of God, has something to say to us – a theme that runs all through the ‘BOOK.’ A theme for our lives and our living. This theme runs from cover to cover. This theme is the essence of all that is in its pages. It is the essential driving force for all that happens in this world. The theme is LOVE!
Paul writing in 1 Corinthians 13:1 says – “1 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”
The plain and simple understanding that I gather from this verse is this – “I might be an extremely brilliant person in the whole world…may be, in the entire history of mankind – if LOVE, as spoken in the Bible, is not my primary driving force in my life, I am nothing more than a sounding brass, and a tinkling cymbal.” What a pitiable life…worthless to be precise.
