All that we have, and will ever have, is given to us, graciously by the LORD God Almighty. Not just material things that we have, but also the mental and physical abilities and talents – they too are a gift of God. In fact, the very life we have, is a gift of God. The extension of our life, day upon day is a gracious and loving gift of God.
– “45…for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” – Matthew 5:45
– “17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” – James 1:17
What is most astonishing with God is, the fact that, despite we being fallen, sinful, and ungrateful human beings, God still bestows upon us, His gifts. Isn’t He, the LORD God Almighty, wonderful and amazing? Sure He is!!!
– “32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?” – Romans 8:32
The best of all gifts that we have received, and can ever receive is, the gift of salvation, that has come about, because of God’s willingness to give sacrificially, a gift that is unimaginably expensive, and that which we can never ever afford to buy it. HalleluYah!!! Herein we are the heart of God, like no other. Oh the love of God…
– “16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” – John 3:16
– “4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.” – Ephesians 2:4
As we think about God’s goodness and grace upon our lives, let us thank Him for all that He has given to us. Let us never ever forget, that we deserve, nothing but punishment, from God Almighty, for all our sins. Yet, He chose to be good, gracious and merciful. Therefore, let His praise be on our lips, welling from our hearts, filled with gratitude, all the days of our lives.
– “1 It is good to give thanks to the LORD, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High; 2 To declare Your lovingkindness in the morning, And Your faithfulness every night,” – Psalms 92:1-2
Even so the LORD help us.
"...God is the author of all good. Every thing that is good on the earth we are to trace [it] to him;"
