The fallen man has wilfully joined hands with the fallen angel, and therefore, we have become the enemies of God, as we see it in the words of Paul in Romans 5:6,8,19. The book of Genesis records the words of God and His view about the fallen man – “5 Then the LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” – Genesis 6:5. Can’t be any clearer than this.
What appears like progress in the world, as we see today, is actually not so much a progress, but rather it is regress. Going backward from bad to worse. Anything and everything that was considered good, is turned on its head, and is now called as, bad and wrong.
How should a Christian look at it? The Christian doesn’t seem to have any encouragement and incentive from the world and its systems, to live a life as required by our Master. Honesty, truthfulness, trustworthiness and the likes are now more “vices* than virtues. Such honourable virtues, if they are used, are used only when it suits to promote self and self interests. Once their usefulness is over, people seem to dump them, and search for greener pastures. This is being promoted as practical and pragmatic approach to life and the reality. Those of us who seem to hold on to these virtues, as principles and values, to build our lives, sadly, seem to be considered and counted among the failures?
The Word of God tells us not to lose heart, whatever may be the case. “21 There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel- that will stand.” – Proverbs 19:21. The point that we as Christians ought to remember always is the word, “NEVERTHELESS.” Whatever may happen, the LORD will prevail.
So my dear brothers and sister, don’t lose heart, if things are going bad. Remember the word “NEVERTHELESS.” The LORD will prevail, and we will see the invisible hand of God guiding us. Therefore, keep walking the narrow way. Let nothing dishearten you. Take heart, and trust the LORD, He will prevail, nevertheless.
"I have before me God's Word which cannot fail, nor can the gates of hell prevail against it; thereby will I remain, though the whole world be against me."
