October 8, 2023The LORD, speaks to us about giving through Proverbs 3:9 – “9 Honour the LORD with your possessions, And with the firstfruits of all your increase;” The reading of the text is plain and simple. There is no ambiguity nor is it foggy to clearly see. We are to honour God, the giver of all things by our possessions and from all our increase. How are we faring here?
The Word of God goes much deeper than mere material possessions. The LORD says, “29 “You shall not delay to offer the first of your ripe produce and your juices. The firstborn of your sons you shall give to Me.” – Exodus 22:29.
The firstborn of your sons, are to be given to the LORD. Again the Word of the LORD is plain, simple and clear. How are we faring here?
May the LORD help us in honouring God our Creator and Redeemer with all our possessions and increase. May we honour him with our firstborn sons.
