The LORD Jesus, spoke clearly, and many times, about His return, which is more commonly called, ‘The Second Coming’ – “7 “And behold, I am coming soon…” “20 He…says, “Surely I am coming soon…” – Revelation 22:7; 22:20
According to a study on the subject of Christ’s return – “There are 1,845 references to it in the Old Testament, and a total of seventeen Old Testament books give it prominence. Of the 260 chapters in the entire New Testament, there are 318 references to the Second Coming, or one out of 30 verses. Twenty-three of the 27 New Testament books refer to this great event. “
We, the Christians, are urged in the Bible, to patiently wait, and hold fast to our faith, as the day of the LORD approaches – “11 I am coming soon. Hold fast what you have, so that no one may seize your crown.” – Revelation 3:11
The reason the LORD urges us to hold fast to our faith, is because, we may get slack and stop waiting for the LORD – “9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.” – 2 Peter 3:9
Let us not be like the five foolish virgins, who were slack and foolish. The LORD will surely return – “10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” – 2 Peter 3:10
Let us know, that when the LORD returns, He will bring the judgement upon all – 12 “Behold, I am coming soon, bringing my recompense with me, to repay each one for what he has done. 13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.” – Revelation 22:12
Therefore, let us be among those who faithfully wait upon the LORD, and eagerly look forward for His return. “3 Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.” – Revelation 1:3
"The Bible tells us that the state of the world will grow darker as we near the end of the age." "I believe that this world, as we know it, will come to an end…This is not fanciful imagination but the clear and repeated testimony of the Bible."
