There is a saying, “Out of sight, out of mind.” This is generally true in human relationships. When we don’t see a person on a regular basis, and normal communication ceases, it is inevitable, that we forget the person.
There are, at other times, when someone works hard and gives their best, yet, when the work is done, the person is either intentionally side-tracked, or is forgotten, since there is no more any news for the person. Strange as it may seem, life in the real world is hard and harsh, and it can crush someone who is sensitive and soft natured. Life goes on, regardless of crushed people, and shattered hearts.
The Word of God records in Ecclesiastes 9:14-15, something that is not abnormal in the world – “14 There was a little city, and few men within it; and there came a great king against it, and besieged it, and built great bulwarks against it: 15 Now there was found in it a poor wise man, and he by his wisdom delivered the city; yet no man remembered that same poor man.”
